HONEYMOONERS!!

After the reception we went straight to our hotel in Phoenix close to the airport! My dad got us the hotel which was awesome! We werent there too long, just to shower, sleep and get ready in the morning! We left my dress, kirks suit and our car there and his sister and bro-in-law picked it up for us!
In the morning we rushed to the bus, got to the airport and caught our flight to Cancun!
It was about a 6 hour flight and by the time we were close we were ready to get off the plane! Im always nervous on planes but being with Kirk made it better!

We landed, there were tons of guys holding signs so we found our right bus for our resort, and took the hour or 2 trip outside Cancun! The resort was amazing (thanks to Kirks parents) and it was so green and pretty! The humidity wasnt too killer...it made my hair easy to air dry and get wavy!

We walked around the resort and looked around! There were really cool restaurants, HUGE pools with lots of cabanas to lay in, the beach and shops! They had some golf carts that could drive you around and there were maintenance and employee guys working 24/7 and they were all nice!
During the walks from one place to another we would run into sweet little lizards called....IGUANAS!! They are monsters and could be the end of me! I was terrified of them and they were EVERYWHERE! They even crawled all over the pools!

We also saw some alligators...or crocodiles...whats the difference?
They were in a pond behind a cage so they werent scary! And they had some babies so there were little alligators hanging out!

The next few days we went to the beach and the pool! It was so relaxing and i loved getting to just do whatever we felt like doing whenever we wanted to do it!

We thought about sitting on that guy's hand but it looked like too many people already had that idea cause it was cracked and falling off!

We took a nap under the cabana one day!

The next day we caught a bus to a small nearby town called Playa Del Carmen.....we LOVED it! Kirk had been there before! We decided next time we would plan to stay there in the little hotels and resorts because there was so much stuff there to do and see!

We wanted to find some food that was real Mexican food so we found this small place and it was DElicious! Kirk speaking Spanish made everything easier! I just stood there and smiled!
Some of the buildings there were made from the trees! Their second story was made in the higher branches of the trees!

We went to Playa Del Carmen almost every day! We did some shopping at all the little shops, ate food, walked the beach, i got a massage, we got mangos, fed the birds, oh! and they had a walmart! I loved just walking everywhere! There were tons of people from everywhere speaking every language!

Walmart!

This place was called the Crazy Cow...probably wouldnt get business in the US but it was pretty good! We just got hamburgers! Oh and we usually drank sodas...not the water!

There were a lot of chairs on the beach to lounge on but most of them were from resorts so if you didnt have the right wristband they would kick you out!

One of the last days we fed the birds with out sandwiches! One had a stub leg (on the bottom right) and we felt bad so we fed it a lot and tried to scare away the other birds!

This family was from Spain we guessed and their baby girl was running around the beach chasing the birds naked haha

I have a fear of birds...my family could tell you! Always have and always will! The seagulls kept hovering over me and i didnt like it so i ran away! Kirk just laughed at me!

On Tuesday we took a trip to Chichinitza where the ancient ruins are! We took a 3 hour bus ride there and half way there is a cenote that we stopped at! We wore our swimming suits and jumped in....well Kirk jumped in! I saw way too many fish so i held my breath, jumped in and swam straight to the stairs!  Afterwards they fed us lunch at a buffet! Then we got back on the bus and left for Chichinitza (not Chicken Pizza) haha

When you get off the bus a tour guide shows you around and taught us about the history! It was cool but half way through Kirk and i just went around by ourselves! We just had to be back by 530 so the bus wouldnt leave us! We bought a few things there too! Kirk wanted some Mayan masks, i got some wooden monkeys that hang (like the say no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil), a mini pyramid and a pic album made out of palm tree and things from Mexico!
Please excuse the TERRIBLE hair!

During the week we did a little grocery shopping and for some reason Kirk and I love breakfast for dinner so we make french toast a lot! Even to this day :)

On Thursday we woke up early to take a bus to Tulum! It was even prettier than the ruins in Chichinitza! We walked around with tons of people and it was like a community of ruins! Oh, and COVERED in Iguanas! On one trail there was one in the way so i backed up and looked to the left where another one was perched on a rock just staring at me! Lets just say i had a few nervous breakdowns and Kirk was getting annoyed of me!
It was right on a cliff with the beach behind it and the water was beautiful! I wish that beach was more accessible and everywhere!

My bro and sister-in-law believe that their cat is the spawn of satan but i believe ive found the real spawn of satan...just look at them!

So there was an area on the beach that was roped off and had a sign...on the left! Kirk just jumped right over to the rope and waved for me to follow! Now I have told Kirk before that he doesnt take risks but I was the one that didnt wanna go! But I did and he got some good pics!

During this tunnel we had to go thru i had a little, tiny panic.....but if you asked Kirk he'd say i had a giant panic! While we were walking thru we got stopped up by the people in front of us! Im a little cholostraphobic and combined with my fear of Iguanas i panicked a little and might have hit Kirk's back! Oops...i definitly apologized for that one!

On our way back to the bus we passed some shops and a guy holding a monkey! Kirk wanted to hold it and I was allowed to take 3 pics...i snuck in 4 :)

One of the restaurants in the resort was huge, round and had a stage in the middle! Some guy was playing the guitar and singing country songs! A few tables were filled with old couple, another honeymooners, and an older couple that told us they had been there on their honeymoon! I talked to them for a while during Kirk's trip to the buffet! They also noticed we werent drinking and asked why not? So Kirk told them we were LDS and he said "oh yeah im a preacher for youth" and we said thats cool! He asked where Kirk learned his Spanish and he told him he served a mission in Oaxaca for 2 years! The guy said "oh yeah ive served missions before, im proud of you guys for being stand up youth" Then he said he wanted to challenge us to read the New Testament to study the life of Jesus Christ to find out who he really is! I said "yeah i love the New Testament".....he obviously has no idea who we or who Mormons are! haha
But on a good note the food was amazing!

Afterwards we went down to the beach just to sit and relax! Kirk tried to take pics but i CANNOT keep my eyes open with a super bright flash! I tried! I even have pic while trying to hold my eyes open (which i will not post)!

Towards the end of the week we went to another restaurant on the resort by the beach! It was very good and we sat at a table that looked right thru the porch to the water!

Saturday we relaxed by the pool then Sunday we caught a plane home! Not only was the 6 hour plane ride long enough when we got on the plane and got to the runway the pilot told us he was having computer issues so he restarted the plane and 30 mins later we were headed back the dock! He told us they needed a mechanic to take a look at it! So we waited an hour or 2 and the pilot announced the mechanic had just arrived...so we waited another hour! Finally we took off and made it home! The next day we wanted to be back in Cancun!

Holy longest post ever!!
