Glamis

I was so excited, we planned a weekend at the dunes! I had been to the dunes once before in November of 2011 when Kirk and I were engaged! He had taught me a bit about riding a quad on the sand but I was excited to learn even more and get practice! We all met at Austin Figueroa's house on Sunday at around 2pm with Aaron's truck and toy hauler and Austin's truck and trailor! Kirk, me and Camille (Aaron's girlfriend) rode in Aaron's truck and Brad, Melisha and Kenzlie rode with Austin! Marcie (Austin's girlfriend) was invited but Sunday came and she wasnt feeling well so she didnt come. I was bummed because I wanted to hang out with her! So we left, stopped at the gas station in Phoenix and made our way to California! We stopped at the gas station in Blythe and grabbed some snacks! About an hour later we made it to the dunes in the dark! It was FULL of lights, toy haulers and people riding everywhere with light sticks on the top of their rhinos and quads riding around! Everyone had a fire pit going! I was pretty stoked! We found a stop and set up camp! We were all hungry so Kirk and I started cooking our dinner we prepared! We cooked up fajitas with chicken, spices my dad gave us and a skillet my dad let us borrow! I made cilantro-lime sauce and everyone dug in!

We ate around the fire and everyone loved it! We also made s'mores and melted Starbursts! Kirk LOVED the s'mores! The boys rode the quads over to Oldesmobile Hill...a giant hill about a 15 minute ride, and Austin took Camille, Brad, and I there in his truck! On our way there we got a little lost and couldnt find the trail! We ended up duning in Austin's truck...it was fun but I was freaking out a little bit to be honest! We finally got there and watched people take their Razr's and Rhinos up and down the hill! Then we got some rest for our fun day tomorrow! It was pretty dang cold so Kirk and I almost froze in Aaron's trailor!

Monday morning we woke up, met Brad's friend Corian that drove up that morning, and at breakfast that Brad and Melisha cooked! The boys got ready and went on a dirt bike ride for a while, the girls stayed back with the fire and got ready for the day!

There seemed to be a lot less people around! When they got back Kirk took me out for some practice on the quad! I was pretty intimidated on the sand but followed Kirk around and tried to keep up! We came back and ate some lunch that Austin brought! Brad tried to get Kenzlie to ride her dirtbike but she wasnt too excited to ride it!

 Camille and Aaron took the quads out and Kirk took me on a ride on the golf cart Aaron brought! It was SO fun! We also went on a second ride and took Kenzlie and she had so much fun! That night we hung out around the fire, talked, Aaron and Camille made Hobo tin foil dinners with hamburger, carrots and potatoes, made more s'mores and Starbursts and enjoyed each other's company! One at a time we went back into our trailor's, showered and went to bed!

Tuesday morning we got up and ate cereal! The boys went on one last long dirt bike ride and the girls just sat in Austin's trailor and talked and were entertained by Kenzlie!

She took us on a ride on the Polar Express, she sang and danced for us, "cooked" my make up and told us they were cookies! When they got back Kirk and I rode the quads while Aaron and Camille drove the golf cart to Oldesmobile Hill! Kirk got me to go up and down it a few times and I wish I got a picture because it took me a little courage! We rode back and took Kenzlie for another golf cart ride! We had SO much fun and Kenzlie wanted to go on all the biggest hills! As we rode I would see a huge hill and think "there's no way Kirk would go up/down that" and he would go straight for it! haha We went back, ate sandwhiches for lunch and were entertained by Kenzlie some more! She's so funny, she kept saying "remember those big hills we went on? That was SO fun!!" haha

For some reason it was SUPER windy on Tuesday and we were pretty much the only people left so we packed up and headed out! We stopped again at the gas station in Blythe, ate at the Wendy's, got a Cinnabon mmm! and left to make it home at a decent time! Austin had a few little problems with his truck but luckily everything went fine and Kirk and I pulled up to our house at about 10pm!
We had so much fun and are already ready for the next trip! Hopefully it comes soon!
