Vegas Day #2/First Anniversary

Since it was Sunday we thought we'd do a little spiritual experience! One of my goals is to see all the temples in the whole world! All 145 of them! The temple was pretty close by so we made our way over there! It was pretty quiet since it was up on a big hill far from all the action and closed since it was Sunday!

This was the view from the temple grounds down to the strip

After the temple, we drove around looking for lunch! We had finally decided on Pizza Hut and found one but it was only take out...so we searched again and found a Pizza Hut restaurant! By that time we were all starving! Then we went back to the strip to do some more looking around!

This lady was a statue...but a real life statue who just stands there for ever and freaks you out when she moves to a slightly different position! I dont think I could do a job like that...maybe the first hour!

Kirk bought me a strawberry-banana skewer covered in
chocolate at the Ghiradelli's store...mmm SO good!

My mom loves the wax figure museums so we went to the Madame Tassaud's museum! They were almost creepy cause they were so life like...felt like people were staring at you from all sides!

Half way through we walked into the haunted house area! I had no idea what was going on but right away I saw this zombie guy standing to the left behind a curtain...I heard someone say "he's real!" and I immediately booked it to the other side of the room!! He started chasing me yelling "wait! come back!" I practically had a heart attack and ran into the next gallery room! Needless to say my mom and I skipped the haunted house!

Sometimes were on Jerry Springer...no big deal!

Me and Alyn with Lady Gaga and Kirk with Prince
(Why does my sister always look so cute??)

A pretty cool fish tank

We got ice cream then waited for this Greek Gods show to start! None of us had ever seen it but it was interesting! They were fake people but real fire and water! haha

After walking around for a while we went and waited with tons of other people to see the show on the ship at Treasure Island! The white ship had the girls or "Sirens" on it and another ship from behind us brought the guy pirates! The story was a musical where the Sirens had attracted one of the pirates and they were trying to take him down by seduces him! It was racier than we thought it was going to be!

Once the show ended it was getting dark and we were hungry so we split up, they went to find food and Kirk and I went into a casino and found a seafood restaurant! We knew that's what we wanted for our anniversary dinner before we even left for Vegas! We found the Seafood Shack and put our name down for a table! Meanwhile we looked around the casino and even played a bit! We spent $1 and won absolutely nothing...we didnt even know how the machine worked! haha

We finally got a table and ordered an appetizer first! Kirk knows I like shrimp so we got a shrimp basket that literally only had 6 pieces in it!

Then we ordered and our meal came! It looked so good! It took us a while to break it open and eat through it! It's fun to crack it open and act like savage animals to dig the meat out with your teeth! Probably the only meal that's ok to do that!

We all met back up after dinner and drove to a different part of the strip...Fremont street! The original strip! It was ooold but pretty cool to see! It was crowded also but most of the people were there to see a country band that was playing on stage, inside the smaller casinos or looking up at the GIANT screen above the street! It was amazing to see such a huge screen, it played so many different things along with the music and had advertisements!

There was a zip line on one end! It was a couple stories high and I was a little nervous (im not a fan of heights) and the long wait didnt help the anticipation!

Our view from on top of the little tower!

Kirk and I went first then my mom, Alyn and Bishop! It was fun riding over everyone's head right under the giant screen!
It's hard to tell but I tried to catch my mom, Alyn and Bishop in flight!

After that we were pretty exhausted and headed back to the hotel to hit the hot tub and go to sleep!

Vegas Day #1

Yay Vegas!! Who doesn't like Las Vegas? I hadn't been for a couple years (and granted I was only there from 11pm-4am so I feel like I haven't seen it all) and Kirk hadn't been since since he was a little boy! So when my parents invited us to go with them during spring break of course we said yes! My dad had to drive straight to California on Monday so we drove 2 cars!

Alyn & Bishop

My dad's car in front of us with him and my mom

One of the first places we stopped was (well, for gas and food) but the next stop was the Hoover Dam! The semi new bridge has been built and lots of people were pulled over looking at it and over it! Its really high up!
Welcome to NEVADA!!

Kirk and my dad

Apparently Kirk and I both have sensitive eyes cause we could
barely keep them open for a picture! haha

There was hardly any parking left so my dad parked at a dirt pull off on the side of the road! When we were walking back from the bridge a cop car was there and (worrying that my dad got a ticket) we started rushing over there! The cop was looking around and down the cliff worried that someone might have fallen or jumped, so my dad reassured him we were just there to park so he let us go! Phew!
We kept driving and finally made it to Las Vegas! We were all pretty excited to get there!

We parked somewhere and took a few hours to walk around and enjoy the sights! I think we were the only ones there that werent drinking or already plastered! haha We went in and out of all the hotels and casinos just like every other tourist! We couldnt really sit and relax in the casinos cause Alyn and Bishop are still underage so we kept wandering around!

Were impossible to see here but we finally got the see the Bellagio fountain go off! It moved to a Michael Jackson song! A street performer that did magic stopped by us and said "can I show you a trick?" we just all stood there cause none of us wanted to give him money! He performed a little trick and we all just stared at him! Once he realized he wasnt getting any money he just looked at us and said
"you all have a good night" and walked away! haha

At 7pm we had tickets to a show called the Variety Show! We waited in line at this mall and got pretty good seats! There were a bunch of different acts! The host was "Wally" and he juggled and made jokes...everyone kept saying "Go Wally, go Wally, go faster" it was a pretty entertaining show!
We stopped at the M&M store! It was pretty cool! TONS of M&M stuff...different colors, flavors and lots of clothes and memorabilia!

After we were tired of walking we got in the car and drove down the freeway to find out hotel! It was a ways off the strip but it was fine because it was much quieter! My parents got Kirk and I our own room which was awesome!

Happy Anniversary To Us!

I can't believe we've been married a year!! Time has flown by! We had a hard time thinking of what to get each other! My parents always said to start small so you could build on it and get better and better every year! Well we didn't quite start small...but were both happy!
I decided to start saving money in February to give to Kirk in August for his birthday! He's been wanting a Rhino SO bad! Well we found one online that was a pretty good deal! It was nice and not to expensive! So I told Kirk he should really look into it, so he talked to the guy! Then one night he said he was going to go look at it with his friend Aaron! I told him if he really liked it he should go for it! So he came home and kept saying it was ok, he wasnt sure, he wanted to think about and I thought something was up! Then he told me to close my eyes, pulled out his phone and surprised me with a picture of it...he bought it and wanted to surprise me but couldnt wait! I was so excited! Happy first anniversary to us!!
