Bachelorette Party!

So growing up i didnt have a lot of girl friends....well just the last 7 years or so ive been lacking in the girl friends department! So thinking about having a bachelorette party kind of bummed me out BUT i did end up making a list of 15 or so fun girls ive been friends with! Unfortunately only 5 or 6 actually showed up...oh well, what can you do! 2 of Kirk's good friends have girlfriends so Jodi and Marcie threw me my party and it was SO nice of them! We had it at Marcie's boyfriend, Austin's, house! It was awesome, they had a cute food table set up with a stripper pole, hanging underwear, streamers and a strobe light! It was pretty fun! I got some funny presents...everything a girl would need! They also made me a video of Kirk with interview questions and lets just say we got most of them right!

Ruth Lova Woodruff

Leap was a special one this year because we got a new niece! Everyone calls her Ruthie and she is adorable! She came just in time to come to our wedding She was born Feb. 29 early in the morning! The girls love her too and are good big sisters!

Ruthie's start in this life wasnt an easy one! After she was born she would cry a lot and they couldnt figure out why! Starting July 7th  Blair took her to the doctor because she had a seizure. They found her glucose levels to be super high.

She went through lots of tests and was poked and proded with a lot of needles and tubes.

Ruthie was in the hospital for a long time and the nurses and staff fell in love with her!
Finally she was diagnosed with Congenital Hyperinsulinism which is a rare disease where her pancreas was over producing insulin cause severe Hypoglycemia.
They gave her some medicine to help but it didnt work.
Then, Aug. 14th they were taking by an ambulance to a private jet and flown to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the only place in the country for the PET scan they needed.

On Aug. 23rd the surgeon (the only one in the nation that performs this surgery) removed 5% of Ruthie's pancreas.

As she started to recover she got Pancreatitis and had to stay in the NICU for a couple extra weeks til she could recover from throwing up. 

Sept. 10th they had to monitor her glucose levels for 5 days and had to have a tube for her feedings. 

Sept. 19th was her last procedure with some nuclear medicine studies. 

She was diagnosed with severe Reflux.

And finally Blair and Ruthie got to come home! They camp home at night and surprised the other girls when they were home in the morning! 

They still (December) have to continue the medicine through her tube but now they can put it in and out when needed! She's now a lot happier of a girl!

Bridal Shower at Blair's

My new mother-in-law, Cherri and my new sister-in-law, Blair threw a bridal shower for me at Blair's house! They made the decorations and had a nice set up of desserts!

It was mostly family but a few other friends and ward members came. I got alot of nice gifts, lots of kitchen stuff, and a few little girly things! Kirk's cousins April has a sense of humor and was secretly writing down things I was saying and my first responses for each gift that I opened! Then at the end of the party she said that she wanted to read her version of what I would say to Kirk on our wedding night! She proceeded to read all of my comments, adding her own voices and exaggerating each one! She said things like "Oh, this one is SO big." and "Is it just me or is it really HOT in here?" and "Oh, this feels so GOOD!" I must admit it was funny but no one really knew how to react! haha We all just sat there staring! 
Everything was wonderful and everyone was so kind and thoughtful! I felt a little weird with all the attention on me but that is to be expected at things like this!

Blair interviewed me and had previously interviewed Kirk with the same questions! After I answered she read me all Kirk's responses! Some matched some didnt! It was pretty fun!

1. Where did you first meet?

Kirk: a game night at Colby Chiles house

Whitney: a friend's house playing Mafia. Kirk was so quiet, Whitney accused him of being Mafia. He offered her a ride home.

2. What was your first impression of her? Him?

Kirk: that she was very sweet/nice. Plus obviously very pretty and mature. And Hot. Very Hot. 

Whitney:  He was quiet. Too quiet. And the most mature of all the boys there. And really nice. And that he hated my boyfriend. 

3. How long was it until your first Kiss?

Kirk: the 3rd or 4th time we hung out just me and her.

Whitney: we met in Dec. Started dating in Aug. 3 days after we started hanging out.

4. What did you do on your first date:

Kirk: we hung out in my room and talked for 3 or 4 hours.

Whitney: long boarding and we went to dinner.

5: If she was a shoe what kind of a shoe would she be?

Kirk: she would be high heels b/c she's my runway model wife. I would be an athletic shoe.

Whitney: He would be nice looking but everyday shoes. Creative Recs. I would be Vans.

6: Where would she go on her dream vacation:

Kirk: Hawaii, because she likes the beach. I don't think she'd like to leave the country. Me, Cancun.

Whitney: I'd choose tropical. He'd want to go back to mexico or colorado.

7. How many kids does she want:

Kirk: At least 5.

Whitney: At least 5.

8: What is her best feature:

Kirk: Do I have to pick one? Her Eyes. She would pick my eyes too.

Whitney: He said my hair looks nice. His eyes.

9. What is her dominating personality trait?

Kirk: She's Nice. Also afraid of confrontation. Me, I'm calm, easy going.

Whitney: He thinks I talk too much. He's responsible and mature.

10. What would she spend her extra/frivolous money on?

Kirk: Clothes. Me too.

Whitney:  Clothes. He'd spend his on shoes/watches.

11. If she was a sport what would it be?

Kirk: Dance, because she is graceful and elegant. 

Whitney: He probably said cheerleader because I'm wild and crazy. He would be a dirtbiker.

12. What is her favorite food/place to eat?

Kirk: Pulled pork. She likes In&Out and Texas Roadhouse. Me, I like peas :) and Texas Roadhouse.

Whitney: Rubios. I like all food. He likes subs or Mexican. He likes BBQ. I hate peas.

13. Between you two, which is more likely to sleep in on a day off?

Kirk: She is.

Whitney: Me.

14. If she were an animal what would she be? What is her favorite?

Kirk: A Swan. But her fav is a boxer dog. Mine is Dog too.

Whiteney: Dogs. A boxer. He likes dogs too.

15. What is your inside joke/phrase?

Kirk: I always offer her milk.

Whitney: whenever we are shopping and I say I want a shirt or something  he says, "I need it! I need it! Buy it! Buy it right now! And then I don't get it.

Bachelor Party

Kirk is not too much of a party person but he did get together with some of his buddies! They went to dinner at Red Robin! He said they had fun!

NEW YEARS!!

Kirk and i went to a big party on Mill Avenue with our friends Aaron and Jodi! We walked around, watched some BMX bikers do tricks and danced! They had a huge stage with lights and tv screens with a countdown to midnight! We joined the crowd and slowly the streets got more and more packed! I didnt realize it until i got on Kirk's shoulders and saw TONS of people everywhere! I then got a little colaustrophobic and tried not to freak out! I wasnt 100% successful and Kirk learned quick! haha It was still fun and i loved spending it with Kirk!

Christmas TIme!

We spent a lot of time with the Woodruff side on Christmas but we also saw my family some also! We went and had breakfast that my dad made with my family! All of Kirk's family was together and we hung out with them while his siblings and nieces and nephews opened presents! I gave Kirk the 12 days of Christmas so he got socks, ties, shirts and Christmas day he got tickets to Supercross with Pit Passes! He liked it! He got me a bathing suit that I wanted, new black and pink Nike tennis shoes and some perfume and lotion from Victoria's Secret! We hung out for a while and later in the day everyone gathered in the living room! Kirk told me he had one more present for me so he brought out this big box and inside it was a small box! I opened it and my ring was in it!! I was so excited! Kirk had a man in Utah custom make it and during the month of December we would look at rings and Kirk would email him things i liked! He got it in the mail on Christmas eve so it was the perfect present!

Oh Christmas Tree

My family got rid of our fake tree last year because it was very sad looking! So they decided to get a real one! We left in the morning and headed up north around the Heber area and drove into the forest to  hunt down our perfect tree! We parked, and walked and walked and walked around searching for a good looking tree! One rule is you cannot top off trees, meaning if the tree is 20 feet tall you cannot cut off the top 8 feet! But usually that is the best looking part! So we looked around and would think we found one but it usually didnt look that good! On our drive out we spotted a good one so we pulled over and walked out to it! Well we couldnt see from the road but it was just the top of the tree that looked good! Soooo we took it! Shh dont tell anyone! By this time it was noon so we stopped and got pizza for lunch! We got home around 5 and Kirk joined us to set the tree up! We put it up, took a step back...and it looked awful! It was so bare! Apparently trees look better in their home in the forest! haha We took it down, my dad sawed it up and we went to Home Depot and picked up a tree! haha It was an adventure!
